Upgrade Your Slishman Traction Splints

Already using the STS Original? The STS Gen2 or STS-C are objectively better products. They still offer traction from the hip, with no extension past the foot. But they’re more compact, lighter, easier to use and more comfortable for your patients. Feel free to reach out if you would like in person or virtual training to help you make the change.

Comparison chart of Slishman traction splints, showing characteristics such as weight, compressed and extended length, pole colors, attachment points, lock mechanisms, mechanical advantages, and stability for three models: STS Original, STS-G2, and STS-C.

Other Improvements

  • Padding: End attachments of STS-G2 and STS-C are much more padded.

  • Steps to apply: Fewer steps to apply the STS-G2 and STS-C in part due to connected parts.

  • Speed of application: Fewer steps and more intuitive to apply STS-G2 and STS-C because proximal & distal straps are fixed to the poles and articulate easily.

  • Potential to lose parts: Far less for STS-G2 and STS-C because tubing and straps are fixed.

  • Bag: The STS-G2 bag is more functional and eye catching. STS-C bag is more durable for military use.

  • Multi-utility: The STS-G2 and STS-C have more uses unrelated to traction, largely because of the included pressure wraps.
