Some EMS agencies are reconsidering the use of traction splints following the 2025 NAEMSP Position Statement on prehospital management of suspected femoral shaft fractures.

The NAEMSP statement raises important questions. While I agree with much of their concerns related to older traction splint designs, Slishman Traction Splints actually address all of their concerns.
